What to expect from the procedure for dental implants with your Indianapolis dentist

Individuals who face the loss or removal of natural teeth have several options for replacement. Dr. Matthew Church provides the various restorative treatments commonly used to restore function and beauty to the smile, including bridges, dentures, and dental implants. Though conventional treatments have existed for decades, the popularity of dental implants continues to grow. This type of treatment is cost-effective, predictable, long lasting, and highly successful at restoring full function and efficiency in chewing. When teeth are replaced using implant treatment, the smile is returned to its most natural look and feel.

At Washington Street Dentistry, we want our patients to experience their best smiles.

Many people who are considering the procedure for dental implants in our Indianapolis office are surprised at the simplicity of this treatment. Because implants are inserted in a surgical procedure, there is the perception of complexity and pain. On the contrary, dental implant surgery can be completed in just a few minutes with local anesthetic and complete comfort. Dr. Matthew Church is a member of the American College of Oral Implantology. His patients benefit from his extensive training and years of experience in the area of implant dentistry.

Before the procedure itself begins, patients will receive local anesthetic and, if arranged, sedation. The most suitable placement for dental implants is determined using state-of-the-art technology, and an opening is made for the insertion of the implant or implants. After the implant has been situated in the jawbone, a temporary crown or healing cap may be placed, and gums sutured. In the months that follow this procedure, bone tissue grows around the titanium post. It is this process that stabilizes the implant just like a natural tooth, and what leads to lifelong restoration. After the implant or implants have become solidified in their foundation, a permanent restoration can be affixed.

At Washington Street Dentistry, we want our patients to experience their best smiles. Whatever dental problems may exist when you first visit our practice, we can help you handle them effectively and return to a healthier state. If tooth loss has affected your smile, you can discover your best option for replacement in a private consultation with Dr. Church. I continue to be impressed with Dr. Church and his staff. They seem to have a great rapport, and his chairside manner is remarkable. In addition, I have never been made to feel embarrassed or punished because of the amount of work my teeth need. Keep up the good work
